Whitby Gothic Festival (WGW) - Gothics in the North East [Pics]

I was fortunate enough to witness a gothic festival in 2013 when I was in Whitby. It is known as the Whitby Goth Weekend where it's actually a yearly music festival. Though I wasn't there so much for the music rather the crowd that the festival attracts, oh yes, a fair few thousands of people. People come from afar donning a variety of gothic costumes with some  really interesting ones (to look at I mean). Let me reminisce through some photos with you, shall we.

Notice Whitby Abbey up on the cliff?

The Magpie Cafe Whitby fish and chips
This is where I always eat whenever I'm in Whitby. The Magpie Cafe serves one of the best fish n chips, everyone has their own taste preference but I'm sticking with Magpie for fish n chips. The Magpie Cafe have been serving since 1937 but building itself has been around since the 18th century.

Oh I should also mention that all you steampunkers, do check this festival out as you may come across other steampunkers at the event, occasionally.

It can be quite crowded and the number of people Whitby Goth Weekend attracts increases year by year.

The whelks were amazing. It's sold by a stall by the banks a stone's throw away from The Magpie Cafe. p.s: That isn't a real lobster tail, which was quite a let down.

This is scampi for all of you out there who haven't tried it before. And if so happen you're in Whitby, you've got to try it out and you can get it from a stall just diagonally opposite of The Magpie Cafe. And the item on the right is just a portion of crab meat on a crab shell-like plastic. *Beware: Take proper care of your food and do not feed the seagulls unless you don't like the scampi or your fish n chips.

And that's a photo part of Whitby's dock and the Whitby Abbey in one frame to end this post. Just for your information, there's also a small lifeboat museum in town and you'll easily spend a day in Whitby, unless you don't fancy sea breeze, seafood, beaches, docks and seagulls, then I suppose you're better off with another travel destination.
