What To Eat In Termeloh - Restoran Meng Kok Ria [Food Post w/ Pic]

Restoran Meng Kok Ria
Address: No. F-169, Jalan Selayang, Pahang, 28000 Termeloh
Coordinates : 3.4445611, 102.41523610000002

If you're in Termeloh and starving or you're just up for a quick bite, head down to Restoran Meng Kok Ria. Take note that they do get a little crowded during usual meal hours. I won't go on boasting on how good the food and whatnot because to be honest I did not try out every dish they had to offer, but this not-so-exposed restaurant (situated on what seems to be more like a back lane) does have its own specialty. Let's get to the photos of the dishes I had, shall we.

I was with one other person hence we only ordered 3 dishes.

Fried Pork Belly Slices with Dark Soy Sauce

香茅蒸非州鱼. Steamed Tilapia with Lemon Grass. As far as I know this dish is one of the more popular dishes here amongst the locals unless you got to know it from a blog, like in here. It certainly is a 'taste-changer', not a common cooking-style I mean. It's basically, in this case, a fried tilapia that will then be steamed with lemon grass, the main ingredient that gives it its flavour and some other ingredients like mushrooms, onions, baby corn etc. I wonder what that garlic-like ingredient is, it looks like pickled garlic? Any ideas? Of course you can choose to have a different type of fish since it's in Termeloh and river fishes are quite a thing here but it'll definitely be more pricey than tilapia.

The whole meal with a pot of jasmine tea and 2 plates of rice only amounted to a reasonable RM51.00. A yay or nay verdict of this Restoran Meng Kok Ria? Definitely yay for something different like the fish, and the reasonable price as well of course.
